PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and develop in vivo or in slice electrophysiological protocols and assays
- Performs In vivo or in slice imaging including 2-photon calcium imaging or fiber photometry
- Performs stereotactic mouse survival surgeries for multiple projects/collaborations.
- Publish scholarly reports and present at scientific conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS in Neuroscience/Biological science required, PhD Preferred. Ideally 3-5 years of previous experience in a research environment.
- Experience with in vitro and ex-vivo patch clamp (cell lines, primary neurons, or slice electrophysiology).
- Experience with in vivo electrophysiology, fiber photometry, or 2P imaging
- A strong understanding of microscopy (including brightfield, confocal and 2-photon), digital-imaging platforms, image quantification and interpretation is essential.
- Experience with live animal handling
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Good organizational skills, detail oriented
- Sound degree of computer literacy
- Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism
- Work independently after initial training with minimum supervision. Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.
- Analyze, visualize, and document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner.
